Field Development:
Work: Amid all the bad weather, the field development team completed the blocking of the dugouts and has made a start on the roofing of same. Work is also continuing on the lighting.
Funding: As mentioned at the AGM, we hoped to be able to draw down the final €6,000 from our 2014 Sports Capital Grant and we had also applied for Munster Council Funding. We are delighted to report that in December we received €6,000 from Sports Capital and €5,000 from Munster Council. Using those funds and proceeds from the 2023 Development Draw, we have reduced our loan from €40,000 to €22,000 by the end of December.
Draw: The third and penultimate development draw will be held in the back room of the hall on Sunday 14th January at 11:45. There are 18 prizes worth €3,400 up for grabs.
Munster Football: Well done to Diarmuid O’Donnell who made his Senior Clare Debut at the opening McGrath Cup match in Clarecastle on Wednesday evening. Diarmuid scored a free just before the half-time whistle to bring Clare within 1 point, though title holders Cork won out big winners in the end, 2-14 to 0-8. Clare head to Kilrossanty GAA Club in Waterford on Sunday for round 2 at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased here.
