The Seniors opened their O’Gorman account with a home win over Naomh Eoin on Sunday last, 2-9 to 0-7. Tap here for the match report. The Junior Men drew with Kilmihil in a challenge match on Sunday last, 2-11 apiece.

Fixtures:

The Junior Ladies have a bye this weekend for the opening round of the Division 4 league. There are two groups in the division with Kildysart in the 5 teamed group 1 with Cooraclare 2, Burren Gaels 2 and Parteen/Meelick (East Clare Gaels), and Kilmihil 2. In the opposite group are Eire Og 2, Miltown 2, Corofin and Clooney Quin. It’s a straight final with the winner of each group competing. The Ladies' first match is away to Cooraclare on or before 24th March.

The Kildysart/Coolmeen U18’s travel to Doonbeg this Sunday for round 2 of the Spring League, with throw-in at 10am.

St John Bosco:

Hard luck to the Senior Boys who lost the Munster U19 E football final to Millstreet CC by two points after added extra time on Monday last.

Best of luck to the Senior Ladies team who are in the Clare Post Primary Division C semi-final after their win over Lisdoonvarna on Monday last.

Allianz League: The Clare Footballers didn’t make it easy but they held off a Limerick revival to continue their winning streak, Clare 1-16 to Limerick 0-14 on Saturday last. Emmet McMahon again played a key part in the win totting up 4 points (1f) and playing a vital role in the Brian McNamara first-half goal.

Down and Westmeath are still joint first with Clare taking sole possession of the third-place spot. The next round should shake things up as Clare hosts Antrim on Saturday 16th (throw-in 3:30) while Down travels to Westmeath on Saint Patrick’s Day. It may come down to the last round (24th March) as Clare has the unenviable task of traveling to Mourne country in their last round, while Westmeath is away to Sligo.

Lidl Ladies National Football League: Clare Ladies are well positioned to secure promotion to Division 2 with their 1-12 to 1-8 victory over Louth last Sunday. The Banner Ladies are joint first with Roscommon on 13 points, 4 points over their nearest competitor. The Ladies are also hosting Antrim in the next round, but the match takes place a day later than the men's (Sunday 17th March). Coincidentally, Clare Ladies also travel to Down for their last round, also on the 24th March.

Membership: All Membership is now due/overdue and can be renewed here.

Defibrillator: The club has purchased a new defibrillator as the existing one needed replacement. We wish to thank Joe O’Donoghue (Ennis Road) for his assistance and expertise. It is located at the clubhouse entrance. We have applied to the HSE for a grant for the defib.

Line Sprayer: The club wishes to thank Joe Hogan for his generous sponsorship of a Titan line sprayer which will make lining the pitch a much easier task.

County Council Funding: The club received €5,000 from Clare County Council for its car park upgrade. We wish to thank PJ Kelly for his assistance with this funding.

Lotto: The jackpot is €5,000 and three tickets can be purchased for as little as €5 with no commitment by tapping here. From March, the times for lotto selling outside of Centra are changed to: Friday 10-12 and Saturday 10:30-12:30. As always, we thank you for your support.
