Results:
The Seniors lost their Cusack Cup opener on Friday last away to Miltown, final score: Kildysart 0-6 to Miltown 1-9. Luke McGrath got the first of his five points with a lively point from play in the opening minute, however, Miltown notched up the next three scores. Kilydsart suffered a blow when they lost wingback Rory McMahon to injury in the 16th minute. Seamus Casey added the only other Kildysart score of the half when he was set up by Keith O’Connor about 40 metres out. Miltown tacked over three more scores to lead at the break 6 points to 2.
It took almost 12 minutes into the second half for either side to score when McGrath slotted over his second. Any hopes of a resurgence were quickly dashed when Miltown was awarded and scored a penalty two minutes later. Kildysart 0-3, Miltown 1-6. McGrath kicked over three frees in the last quarter with Miltown also adding three scores, (2 frees). Keeper Kieran Eyres was called upon twice in the last 10 minutes to keep Miltown from raiding. Round 2 of the Cusack Cup sees the Blues travel to Ballynacally on Easter Sunday with Clondegad coming off their narrow win to St. Breckan’s 10 points to 9 on St. Patrick’s Day.
Kildysart Junior Men lost their opener on Saturday v Clarecastle 1-13 to 0-5.
Fixtures:
The Junior Ladies kick off their Division 4 campaign with an away match to Cooraclare 2 on Friday night under lights, with the throw-in at 6:30.
The U15 Kildysart/Coolmeen Boys start off their Division 2-3 league with a home match in Coolmeen on Saturday. They take on Naomh Eoin/O’Curry’s with a throw-in at 11am.
The U16 Ladies kick off their 2024 Championship Division 4 with an away match to Parteen Meelick on Sunday 24th. The venue is Meelick (Eir Code V94 F6H2) and throw-in is at 4pm. The coaches are Caitriona Donnellan, Sinead Kelly, Caroline Cleary and Niamh Conway.
The West Clare U9 Mini League continues on Friday evening in Kilmihil Astroturf.
The West Clare U13 Mini League continues this Sunday in the Kildsyart Astro Turf at 10am.

Allianz Football League: It’s a must-win for the Clare Footballers on Sunday for Division 2 promotion; nothing else will do. The Banner makes the journey to the Mourne County to take on the joint table toppers at 2pm in Newry's Pairc Esler. We wish Emmet McMahon a speedy recovery from his injury in Clare training last week which kept him out of last weekend's match. Tickets can be bought here and deferred coverage of the match will be on TG4 at 17:35.
Lidl Ladies National Football League: Clare Ladies have secured their promotion to Division 2 with a match to spare. Their last round sees the Saffron & Blue also travel to Down on Sunday 24th March to Teconnaught GAC in Downpatrick with the throw-in at 12:30.
Allianz Hurling League: Clare face Tipperary in the Division 1 semi-final on Sunday at 4pm at O'Moore Park, Portlaoise (R32X9X4). The match will be live on TG4 and Clare FM. Tickets can be bought here.
Membership: All Membership is now due/overdue and can be renewed here. No one can play or train without their membership being paid.
Lotto: Due to a scheduling issue, the lotto draw was postponed from Tuesday 19th to Wednesday 20th March. The draw will be held in Cahill’s Pub at 9pm. The jackpot is €5,200. As always, we thank you for your support.
