Results:

The Senior Men had a facile home win over the Long Village on Saturday last in round 2 of the O’Gorman Cup, Kildysart 2-16 to Doonbeg 0-7. The Blues have likely done enough to earn a place in the final with a round to spare, being the only team on two wins. Tap to read the full match report.

The U15 Boys had a big away win over Doonbeg on Wednesday last (3rd April) winning 2-9 to 1-15, marking their second win from two.

The U18s Boys suffered a one-point loss at home to Kilrush / Kilimer on Friday evening last. Jamie Sheehan started off the scoring for the home side but Kilrush / Kilimer countered with 3 unanswered scores. There wasn’t much between the sides and this was reflected on the scoreboard, however, Kilrush / Kilimer held the lead throughout the half. The score at the short whistle was Kildysart / Coolmeen 0-6, Kilrush / Kilimer 0-9. Three quick points at the start of the second half put just a point between the sides turning into the fourth quarter. However, Kilrush / Kilimer matched Kildysart for each of the following two scores to win in the end, Kildysart / Coolmeen 0-11, Kilrush/ Kilimer 0-12 (3f). Ref Pat Keane. Kildysart/Coolmeen: TJ O’Donoghue, Jessie Collins, James Casey, Quin Collins, Harrison Scanlon, Rueben Garry, Jack Hanrahan, Cillian Kelly, Jamie Sheehan (0-2), Alan Hassett, Conall Casey (0-4, 2f), Darragh Murtagh, Oran Meaney, Liam Casey (0-5, 3f), Shane Casey. Subs: Dylan Cooney for S. Casey (40 min), Adam Hehir for Hassett (48 min), Oisin Garry for Murtagh (55 min).

The U16 Ladies came out on the wrong side of an eight-goal bonanza when they travelled to Kilmihil on Monday evening, losing 3-5 to 5-4. However, they finished second in their group and will face table toppers Kilmihil again in the Division 4 Cup Final (on or before 23rd April). Kildysart raced off the mark with a goal and a point from Isabelle Garry and a point from Lauren Conway by the third minute. Kildysart's defence, led by Siobhan Foley, Niamh Finucane and Maia Casey, was working hard but the home side raided for three goals over the next ten minutes. Each team had a tally of three scores but Kilmihil were ahead by 4. Then Kildysart regrouped, strengthened their rear guard and went on the attack. Isabelle Garry scored another 1-1 and provided a lovely ball to Emer Murtagh who tapped the ball into the back of the net to give Kildysart their third goal and the smallest of leads at the break, 3-3 to 3-2. The second half started with another two scores from Kildysart and they maintained their two-point advantage with about 10 minutes to go. Then Kilmihil went out in front for the first time since the end of the first quarter by putting a rocket into the top corner, Kildysart 3-5, Kilmihil 4-3. Unfortunately, Kilmihil attacked again and scored another goal and a point. Final score: Kildysart 3-5, Kilmihil 5-4. The teams will meet again in the Cup Final in approximately two weeks’ time. Kildysart: Eimear Meaney, Siobhan Foley, Niamh Finucane, Maia Casey, Anna Cleary, Ciara Foley, Emer Murtagh (1-0), Niamh Cook, Erin O’Connor, Elisha Casey, Lauren Conway (0-2), Olivia O’Shea, Lucy Casey, Lacy Mooney, Isabelle Garry (2-3).
