02/08/2020: Kildysart started the knockout Championship with trip to Doonbeg on the August bank holiday weekend and came away with a two point win over Moy 2-10 to 1-11. Conor Cusack slotted home the first goal and Damien Murtagh provided the remaining scores, mostly due to his free-taking accuracy. The first half was a tight affair with the sides level 4 times before Kildysart pulled ahead at the short whistle 1-7 to 6 points. Moy restarted with three unanswered points to close the gap to 1 by the second water break, Kildysart 1-7, Moy 0-9. Tensions were building after Moy scored a goal to level the affair once more at 1-9 a piece in the 59th minute. With each side scrambling for scores, Christy Clancy was pulled down in the square and Murtagh fired home the penalty to put a goal between them once more. Another Murtagh free for the insurance point gave the Blues some breathing space. Moy clawed back two points but Kildysart hung on for the win. Final score: Kildysart 2-10, Moy 1-11.
