Tonight’s game was the eagerly awaited matchup between the 2018 and 2019 Junior B Ladies champions and Kildysart did not disappoint. The ladies bounced back from a defeat on the road to Kilrush with a mighty haul at home, Kildysart 6-16, East Clare Gaels 0-5. With nine players amassing 22 scores, with 2-4 coming from the bench, Kildysart were attacking from all angles. It started out slowly enough with Kildysart enjoying a 1-2 to 0-1 lead at the first water break. The backs kept the East Clare side to a single score in the first half, aided and abetted by ‘keeper Audrey Kelly’s point blank save. Kildysart kicked on to lead by 4-7 to a single point at the half time whistle.

With the breeze to favour the visitors in the second half, Kildysart started strong to keep their momentum going. By the second water break, the Blues were in front 5-12 to 0-2. Another nimble save from Kelly and great defending all around, gave Kelly her first clean sheet this year. East Clare Gaels slotted over three more points and Kildysart answered with 1-4 to give Kildysart the win, Kildysart 6-16, East Clare Gaels 0-5.

The ladies hit the road again on Monday week (14th Sept) when they play in the final round v Doora Barefield 2 in Gurteen at 6:30.
