There’s lot of football action coming up this bank holiday weekend with the Ladies U12 kicking it off this evening at 7pm v Crusheen in their last match of the round robin. The team has had 3 big wins so far with only 1 loss in a competitive division. A win is needed tonight to secure a place in the League final. The match was to be played in St. John Bosco pitch but has been moved to Kildysart pitch as the U16 boys match is postponed. Please come along and support this talented bunch of girls under the management team of Flan Casey and Joanne McNamara.
The U16 boys didn't play this week with the ref not turning up for the Kildysart/Coolmeen match v Cooraclare on Monday and then the Kildysart match on Wednesday got postponed. Both teams are doing really well in their group with Kildysart/Coolmeen winning 5 out of 5 and sharing top of the table with Miltown. Miltown have 1 match remaining while our lads have 2. One of those matches will be played away to Wolfetones this bank holiday Monday at 7pm – this is a re-fixture from round 1 which had to be abandoned due to WT injury. Kildysart are also competing on their own in division C and have 2 wins out of two so far. Both U16 teams are managed by Kevin Kelly and Noel O’Grady, along with mentors from Coolmeen.
The U12 boys had a win at home over the West Clare side of N. Eoin/O’Curry’s 1-8 to 2-4. They are hosting Shannon Gaels this Friday at 6:30. This team is under the tutelage of Johnny Kelly.
The U16 Ladies have finished their round robin matches and are in a semi-final this Saturday – most likely away to Shannon Gaels. This is a young team with only 1 player not eligible for U14 and they have accounted well for themselves under the circumstances. Helen Murphy, John Byrne, Mary Kelly and Tricia Donnellan are the mentors for U16 & U14 Ladies. The U14 matches will resume in earnest at the start of May.
The U6 – U10 boys and girls are also back training and there will be more details provided as they progress in their seasons.
The Intermediate Team is out again this Saturday with a home match at 2:30pm v Liscannor – who are currently bottom of the table. Kildysart are joint top of the table but have a superior points difference. Their last remaining game is away to Kilfenora. This team is under new management this year of Noel Garry, Jacko Cleary and Terry Murphy.
