05/03/2023: The Junior Ladies made a strong start to the 2023 league campaign with an emphatic win away to East Clare Gaels, 6-10 to 2-1. John Byrne is back at the helm, aided by Cyril Kelly and four new additions to the team, two of whom, Megan O’Brien and Alannah Murphy were impressive when given their first starts. Kildysart were quick off the mark and amassed 1-3 to no score by the end of the first quarter. The Blues continued to work the ball through the lines, with key runners off the shoulders and were 11 points to the good by halftime, Kildysart 4-5, East Clare Gaels 2-0.

The backs, led by Captain Chloe Sheehan from between the sticks limited ECG to just three scores overall, with their only point coming in the 55th minute. The goals, they kept on coming with Sinead Fox scoring a hat trick, Lauren Keane a brace and Roisin Donnellan a single, added to points from Rachel Conway (3), Ashley O’Brien (2) and Amy Murphy (1). It was a super team effort from end to end from which the team can build as they progress through the league. Final score: Kildysart 6-10, East Clare Gaels 2-1. Next up is a home match v Eire Og 2 next weekend.
