03/05/2023: Catch up with all the goings-on of Kildysart GAA Club
Results:
The Senior men had a cracking win away to Corofin on Saturday, Kildysart 1-10, Corofin 1-5. This was the first time the teams met since the 2021 Intermediate final so it felt good to come out on top. Tap here for the full match report.
The Junior Men had a facile win over Breckan’s third team on bank holiday Monday, racking up 5 goals and 20 points to Lisdoonvarna’s three points. This puts Kildysart joint first with Miltown, who had a bye this past weekend and therefore have a game in hand. Team: Aidan O’Loughlin, Brendan Frawley, Paul O’Brien, Nigel Boyhan, Diarmuid Ginnane, Shane McNelis, Kieran Connelly, Neil O’Connor, Colm Finucane (2-3), JJ McQuaid,(1-3), Damien Hill (1-4), Jack Cotter (1-3), Kieran Eyres, Terry Murphy (0-1), Cillian McQuaid (0-5). The U14 Ladies held on to their one-point lead to take the max points on their trip to Kilmhil, Kildysart 1-7, Kilmihil 1-6.
The U15 boys made the long journey back to Cross worthwhile when they game away 4 goals to the good, Kildysart 5-8, Naomh Eoin/O’Curry’s 1-8.
Fixtures:
The U15 Boys are playing in Division 2 Feile this Friday evening in Clarecastle starting at 6:30 where they take on Clarecastle and the Banner in the opening round matches.
The Senior men are hosting Lissycasey in Round 5 of the Cusack Cup this Saturday at 5pm in ClareAbbey pitch. After round 4, Kildysart is joint second with St Breckan’s behind the undefeated Clondegad.
The Junior Men are hosting Doora Barefield this Sunday at 11am in Labasheeda.
There are underage blitzes scheduled for this weekend but could not be confirmed as of the time of publishing.

Race Night: The club is holding a race night in Mitchell’s on Saturday 13th May and horses are €20 each. Your support is very much appreciated. Horses can also be purchased online here. All money and race cards must be handed in by Sunday evening 7th May.
Munster Championship:
The club wishes Emmet McMahon and the Clare Senior Footballers the very best of luck when they take on Kerry in the Munster Final on Sunday at 4pm in the Gaelic Grounds. Tickets can be bought here and it is also being shown live on the Sunday Game. We also congratulate Jamie Eyres and Aisling Reidy who will be playing at halftime during this match as part of the Clare Primary Games.
All Ireland group stages: If Clare wins the Munster final then they are in group 1, with Mayo and Cork and the loser of Dublin/Louth. If Clare loses the Munster final then they are group 4 with Monaghan and Donegal and the winner of Armagh/Derry. First-round games take place over the weekends of 20/21 & 27/28 May.
Hard luck to the Clare Minors whose championship run is over as they fell to Tipperary last Thursday 0-12 to 0-8.
Well done to Erin O’Connor and Anna Cleary and the Clare U14s who took part in the Johnny Hayes Tournament in Mallow on Saturday last and well done also to Liam Casey who was a member of the Clare U15 development squad that recently hosted Waterford.
