09/05/2023: Here’s the latest weekly update from Kildysart GAA Club
Results:
The Senior men came out on top in the local derby with Lissycasey on Saturday last with a 2-point win that counted for both the Cusack Cup and the O’Gorman Cup, Kildysart 2-9, Lissycasey 1-10. Kildysart is in joint second with St. Breckan’s on an identical points difference. Tap here for a full match report.
In a reversal of fortune after the previous week’s big win, the Junior Men suffered a defeat at the hands of Doora Barefield in Labasheeda on Sunday last, 1-1 to 2-16. The team is currently in a three-way tie for first with Barefield & Miltown but DB has 1 game and Miltown has 2 games in hand. However, their top position may be untenable as Kildysart has only 1 match remaining (away to Moy on 20th May).
The U15 Academy boys lost away to Cratloe 5-8 to 1-13.
U15s Feile results: Kildysart/Coolmeen won the first match v Banner 2-5 to 0-6 and lost the second to Clarecastle 3-4 to 3-3.
Fixtures:
The U15 boys host the Banner on Wednesday 10 May in Coolmeen at 7pm.
On Thursday the U9 boys hit the road with the team traveling to Quilty to take on KIB & Cratloe in a round 4 blitz.
The U14 ladies host Doora Barefield 3 in Labasheeda in Round 3 of their league campaign with a 7:45 start on Thursday.
UPDATE: Cusack Cup round 6 takes place on Saturday 20th May in Quilty at 6pm while the Junior men travel to Moy on Saturday 20th with a 6:30 throw-in. The Junior match may change due to the senior match being moved to Saturday.

Munster Championship:
Well done to Emmet McMahon on his performance in the Munster Final on Sunday last even though Clare did not get the result they wanted. It was great to have a club man play in the Munster Final for the first time since 1949.
Clare is in All Ireland Group 4 with Monaghan and Donegal and the winner of Armagh/Derry. Clare will host Donegal in round 1 on 20th May in Cusack Park. The remaining two matches will be away and neutral.
