16/05/2023: Here’s the latest weekly update from Kildysart GAA Club
Results:
The U14 ladies had back-to-back wins when they beat Doora Barefield 3 on Thursday last by a score line of 2-12 to 2-3, qualifying them for a Division 4 Cup semi-final on Friday 19th May.
The U15 boys had a comprehensive win over Banner 2-9 to 0-5.
Fixtures:
There is a full weekend of fixtures coming up starting off with the Junior Men at 7:30 on Friday evening. They play their final round of the Division 7 league travelling to take on Moy. With 5 matches played, Kildysart are on 6 points and a win on Friday will make them well-placed for a semi-final berth awaiting other results as not all games in the earlier rounds have been completed.
Friday evening also sees the U14 Ladies take on Kilmihil in the semi-final of the Division 4 league. The match takes place in Kilmihil with a 6:30 throw-in and we wish them the best of luck.
Kildysart Seniors take on Kilmurry Ibrickane in the Cusack Cup round 6 on Saturday 20th May in Quilty with the throw-in at 6pm. With only the top 3 finishers getting to the business end and with only 4 points separating the top 5 teams, the final two rounds are crucial to the outcome of the table.
Sunday is blitz day as the U11 boys, U10 ladies, and U12 ladies are all in action.
Please check the Clubzap Games tab or the website fixtures listing for all up-to-date fixtures and results. The club wishes to thank our neighbouring clubs and the Clare County Board for facilitating us during our current pitch development.
Race Night:
The club wishes to thank all our sponsors, horse buyers, and sellers for their support of our race night held in Mitchell’s Bar on Saturday last. We would like to thank all those who helped out on the night and also Irene & Mitchell for hosting the event. We owe a massive thank you to John McNelis for organising the most successful night. Munster Championship:
Best of luck to Emmet McMahon and the Clare senior footballers they host Donegal in Cusack Park in the opening round of the All Ireland Group Stages on Saturday at 2pm. The last time Clare hosted the Forgotten County was in the Allianz League in 2019 where Donegal just edged out the Banner. Clare travel to Clones to face Monaghan on the weekend of 3/4th June and meet Derry in their final match on 17/18th June. The bottom team in each group will be eliminated.
Best of luck to Robbie Kelly as he becomes the first "hurler" from Kildysart National School to play in the Primary Games at halftime in the Munster Hurling Match between Clare & Cork on Sunday 21st May.
