27/05/2023: Kildysart had an easy win this evening in Coolmeen in round 3 of the O’Gorman Cup against an under-strength Cooraclare, 3-19 to 0-4. With three wins on the trot, Kildysart has secured their spot in the final, with a round to spare. With only 5 teams in the competition, (Kildysart, Doonbeg, Lissycasey, Cooraclare & Miltown) – it’s a straight path to the final for the top 2 teams.
Jack Cotter’s goal in the opening minute set the tone for the match and it was all Kildysart after that. With a scattering of 11 scorers getting their names on the scorecard and holding the Milesians to only 2 points in each half (and only 1 point from play coming in the 32nd minute), it was a lopsided affair from the off. Kildysart, who won this competition in 2021, face Miltown in the remaining match.
Next up for Kildysart is the all-important Cusack Cup round 7 away to Doonbeg at 2pm on the June bank holiday Monday.
