12/06/2023: Here’s the latest weekly update from Kildysart GAA Club
Results:
The Kildysart/Coolmeen U15s cruised to victory on Friday last over Gaels/Kilmihil 7-13 to 2-5, earning them a spot in the Division 2 quarter-final. See fixtures below for more details and tap here for the round 6 match report.
The Academy U15s came away with their second consecutive away win, this time beating Clooney/Quin 6-12 to 3-5.
Fixtures:
The U15 Academy boys are hosting Kilrush/Kilimer this evening Monday 12th in Coolmeen at 7pm.
The U12 Ladies take on Burren Gaels this evening Monday 12th in the School pitch at 7:20pm.
Kildysart/Coolmeen U15’s finished second in Group 2 and will take on Clooney/Quin, who finished third in Group 1, in the Division 2 quarter-final. The match takes place tomorrow, Tuesday 13th in Coolmeen at 7pm.
On Sunday, all roads lead to Miltown as the Junior Men take on the Claret & Amber in the Division 7 Semi-Final with the winner playing Doora Barefield in the final. Throw-in is at 2pm. Best of luck to the team and management.
The U8 Ladies hit the road on Tuesday 13th for their blitz with the Banner. Throw-in is at 6:45
The U11 will travel to back the west to take on the Western Gaels on Sunday next 18th June.
The U10 Ladies are also on the road this Sunday as they head to Cooraclare for a blitz.

Championship:
The draw for the Championship will take place this Wednesday, 14th June at the County Board Meeting. The 2022 semi-finalists (Corofin, KIB, Ennistymon & Eire Og) will be seeded in each group with one group getting 2 seeds. The two top teams from each group advance to the quarter-finals along with the 3rd placed team in the group with 2 seeds. A playoff between the two 3rd placed teams in the groups with only 1 seed will determine the last quarter-final spot. The bottom team in each group will enter a playoff for relegation, with the first two teams drawn playing each other and the winner retains senior championship status. The beaten team will play the third team with the loser of this match relegated to the Intermediate championship for 2024. The dates for the round matches are expected to be the weekends of 5/6th August, 19/20th August, and 2/3rd September.
All Ireland Updates
Hurling: With Clare having lost the Munster Final to Limerick by a heart-breaking one point, 1-23 to 1-22, they are headed to the Quarter Finals to be played on Saturday 24th June. The Banner awaits the winner of the preliminary quarter-final between Dublin and Carlow (to be played on Saturday 17th June). The Quarter final winner will face the Leinster Champions Kilkenny on Sunday 9th July in the semi-final with the All Ireland Final on Sunday 23rd July.
Ladies Football Intermediate: The Clare Ladies Intermediate Team started their All Ireland Group stages on a positive note by beating Offaly in round 1 by a score line of 1-17 to 1-12. Clare is hosting Wicklow in round 2 this Sunday, 18th June in Cusack Park with a 2pm throw-in. Tickets can be purchased here.
Ladies Football U14: Commiserations to Anna & Caroline Cleary and the Clare Ladies U14 footballers who lost their quest for All Ireland glory against Wicklow on Saturday last 4-10 to 3-8. Clare gave a good account of themselves and drew level in the dying minutes of regular time. Wicklow had more in the tank and pulled away in the second period of added time. Well done to all on a very successful campaign.
Men’s Football: Having already been knocked out of the All Ireland competition, Clare will travel to Glennon Brothers, Pearse Park in Longford (Eir code N39 K6X0) on Saturday 17th June to take on Derry in the final round of the group stages. While this is a dead rubber for Clare, Derry and Monaghan are fighting for their place at the top of Group 4 with Monaghan taking on Donegal in Omagh on Saturday as well. Both games throw-in at 6pm.
